I'm Katherine but generally go by KJ. I live on the Connecticut coast and am in my senior year of high school and looking foward to majoring in aviation once I get to college. At the moment I'm basically the best employee Gap Outlet has on its payroll, though my coworkers have yet to realize this. Personality-wise I am bitingly sarcastic and somewhat cynical with an odd brand of humor that I don't expect people to understand but totally appreciate when they do. I'm a bit of a pessimist and firmly believe in expecting the worst so you can be happy when the best happens. I have a tendency to ignore my more negative emotions, which generally leads to smooth sailing until I can't do it any longer and I pretty much explode. Unfortunately, this does not cause me to make any effort to change. I'm tolerant towards others, unless you're an asshole or you're stupid. On the surface I'm not that unique, and to be honest I almost completely agree. I'm a pretty standard person with a handful of quirks that set me apart. Or at least, that's what I'd like to think. Whether it's true is another matter entirely.

I'm not that person with a billion fandoms. I generally dedicate myself to one at a time, and at the moment it's Harry Potter, along with basically the rest of the world. I'm a Ravenclaw and proud of it, and probably more of a Snape fan than anyone has a right to be. I've been in the mood to marry Alan Rickman lately, but it hasn't worked out so far. I settle for buying every movie I can come across and insisting on calling him ARick, a nickname I invented that causes me to nearly pass out with pride when I see someone else use it online. I'm also into anime and manga, and my favorites are Evangelion, Loveless, Sailor Moon, and Yotsuba&, along with a handful of others. I'm quite a slash fan, so expect to see a bit of that here, especially the Snape/Harry (or Snarry) ship. I make graphics at my icon journal and have been known to write the occasional fanfic when I can get over my crippling tendency to short-sell myself. I do a bit of rping and do gymnastics for my high school team as well. I caps lock for emphasis. I really like to think I influence people (see use of the name 'ARick') but I'm fairly certain that's more a rarity than I'd like.

I think I might talk a lot about things people don't actually care about, which is why I've done the Internet a service by making my journal friends only. I add pretty much anyone though, as long as we've got communities, friends, or interests in common. As for my journal itself, it most likely contains more about fandom, work, complaints, slash, gymnastics, friends, school, and my life in general than anyone really cares to read, mostly because I think deep down people are as self-centered as me and want to believe everything in life is related to them, which is unfortunately false.

I hate profiles that paint the owner to be something amazing, so I do hope I've put myself down enough for you. No one likes pretentious assholes (though I suspect I am one), so I'll leave you with that.
